It was kind of weird to train with these at first, only because the weights are all different. There is a training guide you can go to online to show you how to use. But, I feel like using these has helped my son pick up speed. He seems to be throwing more accurately, too. We are going to keep using through the winter. Hoping to see more improvement by spring! Happy with this set!
PowerNet makes some of the best baseball related products. I use a lot from this brand in training little leaguers and trust them explicitly to make great products. That being said this one is no different, high quality training balls that feel like real baseballs, just a little bigger and a little smaller. Included training guide is great, honestly I love the creativity and being able to switch it up in training methods and trying new things.
These MaxControl baseballs are part of a training system for pitchers (but can also be used for catchers and position players) to improve control of their pitches/throws. The photo with three balls show a regulation 9" baseball (the dirty one) as well as a baseball that is 6% smaller and one that is 6% larger. The first thing I noticed is that these baseballs are really nice quality. They are genuine leather and the stitching looks good. There are three of the -6 balls (in 4, 5, and 6 oz weights) and three of the +6 balls (in the same three weights).The balls are great but the best part is that they have developed a complete system for pitching routines for beginner, intermediate, and advanced pitchers. They also have routines for infielders and catchers. I don't have any quantitative data to show results, but am eager to try these balls out.The price is reasonable for what you get. But the real value here is in the pitching routines that are included in the booklet that you get.
I tend to buy all the baseball training balls… these are unique in that they are both larger and smaller and heavier and lighter than a standard ball. They come with a training guide as well, which is great since most of these baseball training aids don’t. I can’t say yet whether this will win someone a cy young award, but it is a good “change up” from the normal balls.
